Long-Term Goals:
- Establish a scalable proof of concept of a thriving scaled YNG-YPO community of internships and support.
- Speed up the work by leveraging the entrepreneurship excellence of peer YNG and YPO.
- Transfer the finalized working system to the YNG Board and YPO Networks - should they wish to adopt it.
What do we plan to do 90 day plan:
- Create standardized systems, forms, and contracts to speed up the internship process.
- On board 100+ YPO owned companies to post their internships.
- On board 300+ YNG search for internships.
Who can post internships?
Companies run/owned by YPO Members can post internships.
Who can apply for internships?
- YNG Members
- "Pre-YNG" - 13 -18-year-olds
- Non-YNG if their parents are YPO
Policy Decisions we have to make as Peers since this is not official:
- If the proof of concept is successful should the site continue to be run by volunteers or should we find a donation model to hire 2-3 people full-time to manage it?
- After the founding board and volunteers of YNG have done the POC - what is the governance structure we should make for it to be sustainable and member-focused year after year?
Where are we getting the funds for the tech from?
Adi is underwriting the first year, but we also hope other YPOers will come together to donate to increase the number of people involved. We don't expect this to cost more than 8-10K USD.
What about the official YNG Board?
We are already in talks with them and all their board members will be welcome to help and co-create. If this project is successful we will hand it over to them to integrate it into their software systems as they see fit.
YPO Members Involvement?
We have a lot of YPO members who want to give their time, energy, and hopefully money to make this a success. All of them are welcome to join the initiative.
Transparency?
All policies, decisions, accounts, and co-creation happen in a public what's app group to ensure no miscommunications or "purposeful" misunderstandings.
Why is this a peer to peer project and not an official YPO project?
This is an experiment which we hope to move very fast with. Quite frankly It would take YPO months if not years to do it going through its processes and they cannot do it as an "Experiment" with member money as well. By keeping it peer-to-peer we get speed, involvement, and can take more risks with it. If it succeeds YNG should take it over.
